On a sunny spring morning, the Bee family welcomed a new bee to the hive.
They had been waiting weeks for Baby Bee to arrive.
Mama and Daddy felt joy and pure bliss
Big sister hugged him and gave him a kiss
Soon Baby Bee was ready for flight
So he opened his wings and WOW what a sight!
They were big and long and had a bright glare
Wings with these colors were definitely rare!
Mama was beaming and looked on with pride
But Daddy was worried and wanted to hide
His wings looked so different, not like the rest
Big sister said they're cool, Baby Bee is the best!
His wings were so pink, how would he fly?
Daddy was scared they'd light up the sky
Mama said don't worry, he'll ride on my back
So she picked him up gently but felt like she'd crack
Mama carried him places and showed him the way
Together they flew, on her back he would stay
Until he grew bigger and went off to school
Daddy was afraid other bees would be cruel
Baby Bee went to class and opened his wings
And some of the bees said 'What are those pink things?!?'
They're my wings, full of color...I wear them with pride
Even though Daddy thought I should hide
When my Mama carried me, she always would sing
It's what's inside you that matters, not just your wings
Bee kind and Bee sweet, ignore what some say
Bee the best you can Bee everyday
When you feel down and not like the rest
Remember big sister thinks you're the best!
Your Bee family loves you and with you we'll stand
We promise to give you a safe place to land
